Glamorous Marilyn Monroe-style dress from the 80s or early 90s!
DETAILS: - Crimson red moiré (color is best represented in closeup photos) - Fully lined with matching synthetic - Ruched bodice is boned - Sweetheart neckline - Wrap skirt has tie at side waist - Closes in back with a zipper
MANUFACTURER: Unknown - label had been cut out when I acquired the dress
PLACE OF ORIGIN: Probably France - it looks like the label said "made in France"
SIZE: All measurements taken with garment lying flat:
Bust (armpit to armpit): 33" (84cm) (fits up to 34" because of ruching) Waist: 27" (69cm) Hip: 39.5" (100cm) Armpit to hem: 33.5" (85cm)
For reference, my measurements in the photos are 34"-27"-36".
CONDITION: Good vintage condition.
The boning has worn the fabric at one side of the waist, and there are a few specks of wear scattered throughout the taffeta. The lining is partially torn at the waist but this doesn't show on the outside. I noticed a tiny faded mark on the back bottom skirt. See last two photos. The sweatheart neckline is slightly asymmetrical but I think it was designed this way. The underarms have a musty smell after washing - a dry cleaning might fix that. Garment is clean and ready to wear.
